Warehousing and Storage
This occupational competence qualification will provide learners with the knowledge and skills to work
within roles that involve the warehousing and storage of various types of goods in a range of industries and environments such as manufacturing plants or distribution depots.
Work as a warehouse operative would be likely to involve taking delivery and storage of goods and supplies, checking for damaged or missing items, moving stock either by hand or using equipment, such as forklift trucks or hoists, picking orders and loading goods for dispatch.
The qualification contains Mandatory Units covering generic knowledge and skills including Health and Safety and efficient working relationships, and Optional Units covering receiving, processing, transporting, moving and handling goods.
Who Can Take these Qualifications?
The qualification is intended for learners who are new entrants to the Warehousing sector and wish to develop their knowledge and skills to enable safe progression into the workplace/employment.
The qualification will also benefit learners who are already in employment within a warehousing environment but require additional knowledge and skills as part of an existing job role or to enable career progression.
There are no prerequisites to achieve this qualification but it must be achieved in the workplace.
