Processing Operations: Hydrocarbons
These occupational competence qualifications will provide learners with the knowledge and skills to work in
a range of roles within processing operations in the Hydrocarbons Industry.
These qualifications contain Mandatory Units covering generic knowledge and skills including Health and Safety, responding to incidents and emergencies, working with others, plus starting up, monitoring and shutting down process systems.
The Control Room qualification contains units covering remote control operations.
Who Can Take these Qualifications?
The Level 1 qualification is intended for learners who are new entrants to the Hydrocarbons Industry and wish to develop their knowledge and skills to enable safe progression into the workplace/employment.
The Level 2 and 3 qualifications are intended for learners who are already in employment and are likely to be experienced operators but require additional knowledge and skills as part of an existing job role or to enable career progression.
There are no prerequisites to achieve these qualifications but they must be achieved in the workplace.
At Level 1 simulation is permitted and where the learner does not have the opportunity to cover all aspects of the unit in the workplace, their evidence may be supplemented by a realistic simulation and questioning.
