Overview
This occupational competence qualification will provide learners with the knowledge and skills to work in nuclear power generation in the Nuclear Industry.
The Nuclear Industry supplies electricity to the UK through nuclear power plants, producing energy for business and domestic use.

This qualification contains two pathways:

Fuel Operations
-
Generation Operations
It contains Mandatory Units covering responding to incidents, plant and equipment alarms, monitoring plant condition, handing over operations and testing to confirm plant availability. Learners must also complete a number of Optional Units dependent on their chosen pathway.
Who Can Take this Qualification?
This qualification is intended for learners who are new entrants to the Nuclear sector and wish to develop their knowledge and skills to enable safe progression into the workplace/employment.
The qualification will also benefit learners who are already in employment within a Nuclear environment but require additional knowledge and skills as part of an existing job role or to enable career progression.
There are no prerequisites to achieve this qualification but it must be achieved in the workplace.
