Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF)

The framework for vocational qualifications is changing; the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) will provide a more flexible approach to learning and enable learners to achieve Credit for their qualifications.

PAA\VQ-SET will be supporting centres through the transitional period, helping them to understand the implications of the changes; the benefits the QCF will bring and giving practical advice about how to be a QCF Centre; each of the subheadings below provide further information.

Find out more about the QCF and what Awards, Certificates and Diplomas are.

>What QCF Qualifications are available?

Find out what qualifications are already available on the QCF; for details of all PAA\VQ-SET's qualifications check our migration timetables.

>How can I offer QCF Qualifications?

To become a Centre for QCF Qualifications please complete our QCF Centre Recognition and QCF Qualification Approval forms and forward them to PAA\VQ-SET, Brooke House, 24 Dam Street, Lichfield, Staffordshire. WS13 6AA.

>How will the existing qualifications I offer be affected?

Existing Qualifications (NVQs or VRQs) will not be extended beyond 31st December 2010, so any candidates wishing to complete existing qualifications must be registered prior to this; this date may be earlier for qualifications which have already been migrated to the QCF. Candidates will then have the usual run out period to complete and be certificated for the qualification.
